Job opening

Do you enjoy helping people with hands-on training and local support? Do you want to help build open source tools for anyone to use? Do you want to save people time so that they can do more with less? Do you want to go to 11 on CertifiedToRock.com?

Advantage Labs is hiring, and we're looking for someone with the right spirit and work ethic. Successful applicants will possess:

  • A strong interest in participating in the local community. We've probably met you at one of the local Drupal, social networking, nonprofit, or other meet-ups in town.
  • The ability to recognize something you can do, and the self-direction to get it done.
  • Great communication skills. We work with people of all skill levels, so the ability to be clear, supportive and friendly is key.
  • The ability to relate to clients and deliver what they need, not just what they're asking for. We build things for the long haul, so it's important to help people today while keeping a focus on the future.

We all wear many hats and we're looking for a person who can fill out our team with complementary skills. In particular, we'd like to find someone who can fill the following role:

DRUPAL DEVELOPER: We do larger-scale client development to keep our skills sharp. We also support developers, which means troubleshooting, writing, or extending Drupal modules and spreading the word on Drupal best practices. We are active contrib maintainers, and your job responsibilities will include ongoing enhancements, upgrades and support for a wide array of modules that benefit nonprofits and businesses alike.

As a successful applicant, you have a proven track record of developing advanced Drupal configurations, you know how to write a module, and more importantly, you know when NOT to write a module! You can adhere to best practices and coding standards, and you can think beyond a single task towards a framework-oriented approach.

Our Drupal work is very technical, so you must understand, or be capable of learning, how to develop support for data frameworks, Views and field API's, and maintaining inter-related tools. You must have a drupal.org user id that demonstrates some level of participation over the years.

Applicants must be local to our office in Minneapolis. There's free coffee, a groovin' turntable and siege weaponry. There are daily opportunities to meet our customers face-to-face, provide hands-on support at Lab hours, or participate at one of the many user group meetings and workshops that we host here.

Through the mayhem, we still get a lot done, so this isn't the place to cut your teeth. We're seeking experienced candidates who can bring new ideas and a healthy work ethic to the table.

Please send your qualifications, experience summary, salary requirements and a link to your Drupal.org user profile page to team@advantagelabs.com , or track us down in #advantagelabs on freenode.
