This week's Lab Hours: Styles, Files and Smiles
July 2, 2008 - 4:55pm — allieWe had a tough time shaking out the sillies today. Lab hours opened with dialects, gopher tails, and a few childishly derisive comments about taxonomy. Kay even demoed her portable fan! I think we're all ready for the long holiday weekend. Fortunately, we had Bobbi to keep us on target today, and thus forged ahead:
- Kristin is going gangbusters this week, setting up easy-to-use sections in her groups using panels. She's coloring up custom blocks, and looking to set background colors on views output. Go Go CSS!
- Steve is all about the themeing today. He created a Zen subtheme and is using a designer's existing HTML/CSS to bring it home.
- Tim is using Taxonomy ticker and looking at how to override its result pages. He also followed up with Kristin on forms and the Gotcha module, and followed along on the Date/Event work.
- Maryann is mastering views and imagecache, seeking to build a gallery and wrap it into the menu system.
- Lindagail got video and audio content on her Native American Directory Site, and "a smile from ear to ear".
- Kay is customizing the Garland theme, because she's looking to change some colors that she can't get to from the Color module. This means installing the Garland theme separately from the base install and hacking away.
- Jay is switching from the events module to date+calendar, and rolling out a new calendar for the Daily Planet.

The site utilizes blocks, nice menus, image cache, teaser pages, flash swf and flash video files, lists, and the drupal zen theme (with customized CSS). It is Drupal 5.x.
